Futility of Hope

Immigration is nothing but a nuisance for certain countries. Mainly the ones with larger economies capable of attracting immigrants. Although I’m very unlikely to experience such a horrendous thing in my life.Mainly because, I don’t wanna ever leave my country and I don’t care if someone moves here( which is not very common anyway). Not being a person speaking out of personal experiences, all I have to fall back on is my opinions, which could be ill informed but I’m willing to learn.

Somehow I want to talk about it because the people talking about it are not convincing. Sometimes I agree with them partially regarding the problem of immigration, yet I hate them. Prime example is UKIP leader Nigel Fraud or something. I hate his guts for calling immigrants a burden on the UK’s economy but I also agree with him. It’s not because his arguments make sense, Instead I agree with what he’s trying to conclude. He’s sagacious in his delusions, let him be, let others like him be, but those ignorant, arrogant bastards are unaware of the fact that once the immigrants go back, things will not turn out the way they are anticipating.

Their anticipations are,

  • There will be better wages for native british,
  • Better healthcare,
  • More jobs
  • Better schooling

I think that’s bullshit to some extent. The fault is not in the immigrants who will accept low wages for a job, it’s in the capitalist mindset that doesn’t want to pay more for a job. There’s no guarantee that once they get rid of the immigrants, all of their shitty jobs will be picked up by the locals. One major delusion among the proponents of tighter immigration laws is that all immigrants take away from their economy and don’t give back, which is farthest from the truth.

According to forbes in 2019, only 14 percent of UK’s residents were born somewhere else yet around fifty percent of their fastest growing businesses have at least one immigrant co-founder. Their contribution to the economy is way more than they are credited. These fifty percent co-founders among fastest growing businesses are not all from wealthy European countries but a notable percentage of these founders are from developing nations.

Throw out your immigrants and expect them to put a good word for you when they get back to their modest economies so you can export your shit over there.

The purpose of the above argument is not to defend a liberal agenda, mainly the relaxed immigration laws.

There are around 1.8 million Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom, at least 200 thousands among those are solely Pakistani Nationals and living there on work visas or something else.

As a Pakistani, I am appalled by this. Since our independence from British Empire in 1947, there has been a craze for visiting, migrating or becoming a British national among Pakistanis. This is nonsensical in my not-so-humble opinion. Why even get independence when you can’t rely on your own resources.

We’ve got to be disassociated with such things and just live where you were born. Life is not that long, it doesn’t matter if you had a great time over here or not, our demise renders everything to nonsense. So at least keep the self respect while the conscious is kicking.

This is not exclusive to Pakistanis, around 65 countries had gotten independence from britain in the last century. Most of those nations still haven’t gotten proper understanding of Independence and freedom. Freedom from colonizers doesn’t mean that suddenly we are the epitome of freedom fighting spirit. Somehow complacency has poisoned our minds to a degree where we don’t acknowledge our failures. We should think about it everyday, how in the hell, a few thousand people from another part of the world came and conquered such a great landmass without much resistance.

In this modern world, perhaps it’s too late for some nations, it has been the way that once you’ve gotten enough manpower and will to prosper, the economy could boost and poverty could be averted. Situation will not get better overnight but your economy will take off in a less than half a century. The problem with this is that it is a long hectic process and it’s inherently against human nature to have that much patience shared among generations. Atleast two generations live out a significant part of their lives and they can’t wait most of their lives to see things getting better.

Immigrants should stay in their countries and it could be such a win for them. Patience is the key here.

Locals in all the developed countries have this benign notion that if there were no immigrants plummeting the wage rates, it would solve every problem they have right now. That’s an obvious symptom of their declining days but it’s not the cause. You see, they did not become developed by just improving their working class, any  improvement in the working class lifestyle was nothing more than an afterthought.

Since all the disliked immigrants come from developing or underdeveloped countries, it is easier to blame them for all the problems of their utopia. I suggest that developing countries like Pakistan should actually ban people from traveling to these European countries for the purpose of finding work and keep the numbers to minimal by allowing them to travel abroad for the purpose of studies or diplomacy. Currently there are around 200000 Pakistani Nationals in the UK and that’s just ridiculous. It should not be more than two thousand including all the students that are there for education or research.

It just kills the purpose of having a country of origin if you are just going to flee whenever the situation is a little tougher. There’s no such thing as a perfect country, what you can do is keep working on it and every tomorrow will be better than your yesterday. That’s enough motivation for someone to stick around if they are not pessimistic and selfish.

I might be too cynical for the usual taste of people in this country but if a country does not produce their own simple products like soaps, teas, biscuits despite having resources, more than enough, there’s not much hope for it. It does not give you the right to yell at people when they don’t want you around crowding their space. In the 1960’s, there was an economic movement by the president of Pakistan by which, import of all the usual household products was banned but the local industry exploited the nation so badly that the government could not do that any longer. They had to let the foreig companies do business in the areas where there is no need for assistance from them.

I definitely respect the likes of UKIP leaders and other conservatives in UK for protecting the interests of their own. It’s a great opportunity for us to learn. Our governments have been so dishonest in the past that we don’t have the clear idea what to even hope for, work for and dream about. An individual can surely educate themselves regarding such things but whole nations should be addressed correctly and precisely by the leaders. In an agricultural country where lentils and vegetables are imported from time to time along with poultry feed and agricultural machinery, there has been done something gravely wrong in the past.

All I wish is that one day, people understand that it’s useless to be a patriot without starting from the ground. In the success stories of nations, no one has ever succeeded by skipping a few steps. We have tried it a few times in the past and failed miserably. It’s not worth it.

Before we have to lose hope for everything we have to learn to hope for right things first. Hoping for anything willy-nilly and aspiring for something entirely else along the way is a benign waste of time and as a nation we have been proficient in that regard.

MONTH of JULY

What is month of July like? I know this question begs me to bring about some hefty analogies to make sense of the meaning that I have about the month of July in my mind. For starters, I would say that Month of July is to a year, like the twenty sixth years of your life to your twenties. It comes just after half the year is done. When July is done, you start to judge yourself more and it keeps increasing towards the end of the year. I remember my 26 th year of life, it was good still I was mad at it. It doesn’t matter if longer life entice you or not, the best of the life is before you turn thirty. Every year, July remind of the impending decay that is life. By the end of the year, everyone will start to count their achievements and they will ask me to participate in the filthy practice. That is such a terrible dilemma and July bring the demise of my peace of mind to surface. Before July, the troubles you create don’t trouble you back and all the consequences are...

GOOD PRACTICES IN STAFF AUGMENTATION

Every successful business adheres to a diverse plan of actions to take on the challenges of market competition and growth targets. Sometimes it’s in the best interest of a company to not produce a service or a product in-house. In these cases, rendering of such services is bestowed upon a foreign entity. These external businesses are hired to do the job because of their speciality in their respective field. Sometimes it’s not feasible for a business to dip their toe in everything and it’s strategical and tactically better to acquire help from outside. ESSENTIAL DECISION; OUTSOURCING OR STAFF AUGMENTATION “Either to go with project outsourcing or staff augmentation?”. You must know the following before you make this decision. Outsourcing projects require less employee training and give most control to the outsourcing company. Outsourcing is formal and a long-term commitment most of the time. On the other hand, staff augmentation could be used for single projects which last for a brie...
